Jamaica Parents;

As you know, we always want to prioritize the health and well-being of our students on campus. During lunch time, our School Lunch Program works to offer healthy options for our students, and we are ever grateful to parents who prioritize providing healthy lunches for our kids.

With that said, we are seeing a rising number of students bringing an abundance of unhealthy snacks without healthy options for their lunch time. In addition, we are seing some students bring bottles of soda to school, which is against our school and district wellness policies. So parents will need to refrain from sending any soda or energy drink options with students to school.

If your students pack their own lunches, we urge you to check their lunchbox at night or before school to ensure they have packed at least one healthy option for their lunchtime meal. The nutritional value of their meal always effects the amount of energy and stamina they have during their school day. So, we appreciate all you do to keep those brains working all day long!

Below are some suggestions of inexpensive and healthier options to include:

Main Lunches Snack Ideas
Turkey or Ham Sandwiches or Pinwheels Fruit
PB and J Sandwiches or other alternatives Yogurt
Hummus with Pita Bread Trail Mix
Deli Meat and Cheese Kabobs Graham Crackers or Pretzels
Bagel with Cream Cheese Mozzarella Sticks
Pasta Salad or Leftovers Applesauce, Jello, or Pudding

With Sincere Appreciation,
Your Jamaica Family
